Why:
Osha Requires workplaces to protect employees from electrical hazards by providing warning labels, PPE, and Trainings.
When:
Facilities that have electrical equipment that is >208V like large generators and dedicated utility services, or perform maintenance while energized, will need an Electrical Engineer to create custom labels, trainings, and PPE recommendations for them.
What:
Common facilities that are >208V or require Energized maintenance:
Hospitals & Healthcare Facilities
Data Centers
Offices and Residential towers
Schools and Universities
Industrial Facilities
Solar and Wind Farms
How often:
The NFPA requires arc flash studies to be updated every 5 years, or after any changes to the utilities.
Trainings are recommended to be renewed every 3 years (when the code is updated).
