When are Arc Flash Studies Needed?

Every commercial building is required to have an arc flash study performed every 5 years. Arc flash labels need to be re calculated and employee trainings need to be re administered. This is according to NFPA 70E and OSHA regulations.

How Long Do Arc Flash Studies Take

Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the size of the project. Usually scheduling is a bigger factor for timing, so be sure to book early before our schedule fills up.

Arc Flash Study Overview

An Arc Flash study is required to be performed every 5 years or after electrical changes to maintain OSHA and NFPA compliance and ensure workplace safety.

There are generally 3 requirements of an Arc Flash Study to remain OSHA and NFPA compliant:

First, a certified and experienced Electrical Engineer needs to evaluate your electrical system, and calculate hazards.

Second, labels with the calculations need to be displayed on all high voltage electrical equipment that is serviced.

Third, all employees with access to high voltage equipment need to go through a comprehensive Arc Flash Training program.

EAP provides solutions for all for your workplace electrical compliance needs with our comprehensve Arc Flash Study.
